The Federal Public Defender’s Office is pleased to sponsor a 6-session “Brown-Bag Seminar” on Federal Criminal
Defense. After completing all six sessions, attendees should be prepared to handle the defense of indigent criminal defendants in the Amarillo Division of the Northern District of Texas.

The seminar will be offered on Fridays, at noon, beginning October 12 and finishing on November 5. Each one-hour lecture will focus on a different aspect of representing an indigent defendant, with additional time for questions and conferring with other practitioners. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch to the 2nd Floor Conference Room at ANB Plaza 2, the same building where the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Federal Public Defender’s Office are located. (500 South Taylor Street.) There are several convenient restaurants near Plaza 2, including Ebby’s Edibles, which is on the ground floor across the lobby from the elevators.

Each session will be taught by one or more Assistant Federal Public Defenders.

The sessions are all free-of-charge to anyone who is interested in federal criminal practice. While we cannot guarantee you admission to the CJA panel, we expect that the committee will look favorably on attorneys who have taken this course.
